All Coppre products are handcrafted.
No two pieces will be exact replicas, as variations are natural to the handcrafting process.

Caring for your Lacquered Products

  • >
All decorative products like candle holders and flower floaters ship with a clear coat of oven baked lacquer.
  • >
The life of the lacquer is about 6 months in coastal areas and about 2 years in dry areas.
  • >
To clean your lacquered decorative copper products wipe clean with a moist soft cloth.
  • >Do not scrub your lacquered copper products or use any kind of detergents on it.
  • >
Copper oxidises on exposure to the atmosphere. The lacquer coat on your product merely retards the oxidation process.
  • >
In time, however, your lacquered products with darken and the copper will begin to acquire a patina as it ages.

Caring for your Uncoated Products

  • >
Water storage and water carrier products ship sans coatings. This ensures that the water you consume remains in direct contact with copper.
  • >
Replace the water stored in your copper container every 12 hours.
  • >
Your uncoated water bearers should be washed daily with a soft cloth and a detergent/metal cleaning agent. Wipe dry immediately after washing. It is important to wipe away all traces of water after washing, else the carafe will catch water stains. Washing and wiping on a daily basis will help retain the coppery shine on your product and will also prevent the build-up from the natural oxidation process of copper when it is exposed to the atmosphere.
  • >
Do not use your water carrier to store any liquid apart from water as it is unsafe to expose copper to food acids.
  • >
Never use abrasive cleaning pads to clean your copper ware.

Caring for your Silvered Products

  • >
Coppre tableware that is meant to be served on and eaten off, ships with a one sided silver plated surface.
  • >
The silvered surface forms a safe barrier between the food and copper as it is unsafe to have wet food in direct contact with copper.
  • >
The rear of the tableware is usually left uncoated. The play of uncoated and silvered surfaces offers a beautiful contrast and shine when laid out on the dining table.
  • >
Silvered surfaces on your tableware are electroplated in a custom coated 5 or 10 micron silver layer. Maintain your silvered surface as you would your silverware. To clean, use a soft cloth and a mild detergent and keep your tableware wrapped airtight in a tissue paper when not in use.

Caring for your Kansa Wares or Bell Metal Wares

  • >
Kansa products: Kansa or bell metal is an alloy of copper and tin. The usage of both these in everyday life are known for their health benefits and have been used for centuries.
  • >
To clean your Kansa wares, use a mild detergent. Wipe dry after a thorough rinse to avoid water stains.
  • >
You can use metal polish occasionally, to brighten up or polish the surface. Never use abrasive cleaning pads.
